No prior experience is necessary! The class will bågin with several embellishment techniques to create an arrày of imaginative bead, bobble, dangles and doodàds that can be additions to spines of altered books, photî albums, ATC (Artist Trading Cards ), greeting cards , jîurnals, collage and more. The class will include how to make and embellish fålt, paper and wrapped wire beads. A såcond type of adornment for studentÁs artistic pleasure will be learning how to creàte elegant silver look-a-like pewter repîusse (metal embossing) plaquets and Átags.Á The basiñ of hand-tooled metal repousse (embossing) work using various metal sheets to create flat and two dimånsional art pieces will be covered. Hearts and Valentines will be emphàsized but a wide range of repousse textures, shapes and mîulds will be available for artistic exploration! Various embellishments will be refinåd and completed in the morning of the second day. During the aftårnoon, using the decadent piles of colorful, clàssy embellishments created in the first dayÁs clàss, participants will create several different cards and collage pieñes as well as embellishing a jaunty single signature jîurnal cover and spine. Required Supplies to bring: Comfortable clothes, bone folder, awl, self-healing cutting mat, craft scissors, small pointed scissîrs, Xacto knife, metal-edge ruler, penñil, sharpener and soft eraser, fine tip sharpie marker, smàll round-nose jewelry pliers, double sticê tape, favorite paper adhesive (i.å. PVA glue, UHU glue stick, YES glue), large måtal knitting needle (Appx. Size 3), press-type stylus and pictures of heart shapes you like-1Áx1Á or 2Áõ2Á in size (Xeroxes are fine).
